Rowing

The Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS), in partnership with Rowing Australia and Rowing Queensland, supports Queensland’s best emerging and elite rowers, and coaches, with expert and individualised performance support and access to world-class facilities and technology. The program has a dual purpose: to develop athletes and coxes capable of progressing to Rowing Australia’s National Training Centres and future world, Olympic and Paralympic success, while also supporting podium-level Paralympic athletes based in Queensland.

QAS-supported athletes have achieved success on the national and international stage, including five-time world champion and three-time Paralympic medallist Erik Horrie and five QAS-supported athletes who helped Queensland secure a historic King’s Cup victory at the 2026 Australian Rowing Championships, ending an 87-year drought and reinforcing Queensland’s reputation as one of the country’s leading rowing pathways.
