Youfor2032 Talent Search Privacy Statement
The Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) manages personal information in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) (the IP Act). Personal information is as defined in the IP Act. QAS will be collecting Your personal information (in this collection notice ‘personal information’ includes the personal information of the parent or guardian and of the child participant) during YouFor2032 Talent Search, Driven by RACQ App (App) registration, during athlete testing and assessment, in registration forms, consent forms, questionnaires and any videos You submit in the App, or are taken by QAS (as outlined in the QAS Film/Photo Consent), for the purposes of:
- Creating Your account to register interest in the YouFor2032 Talent Search, driven by RACQ (“YouFor2032”);
- Assessing Your registration to determine participation eligibility in YouFor2032; and
- Your participation in YouFor2032, including performance analysis, guidance on athlete selection and tailoring of performance servicing to individual athletes and squads.
The type of personal information that may be collected, stored, used, and/or disclosed may include sensitive information in the form of health information, which will be used only for the purposes listed above.
Any of Your collected personal information will be kept and stored by QAS electronically on QAS’s and/or QAS contracted service providers’ secured networks where access is limited to authorised personnel. QAS retains personal information collected through the App for up to four (4) years from the date of the relevant testing and/or assessment activity, unless QAS determines that a longer retention period is required on a case-by-case basis (for example where required for ongoing program administration, audit, legal or regulatory purposes). Where a participant does not progress past the App submission stage, video submission files submitted through the App will be destroyed two (2) years after the date of submission.
Some of Your personal information may be collated in a statistical format (in a deidentified and aggregate format) and may be used by QAS or its contractors and research partners for statistical or research purposes, which could be published. Such published data will remain deidentified.
Some personal information may also be provided to testing venues in order to prepare for in-person athlete testing.
In addition to the above, Your personal information may be disclosed to State and National Level Sporting Organisations, Coaches, the Australian Institute of Sport, and appropriate QAS contracted service providers of YouFor2032, for the purposes of analysing performance data, creating benchmarks, informing high performance sport suitability, managing the YouFor2032 testing data, generating feedback reports from testing data, and managing the YouFor2032 website and portal. Feedback reports containing Your personal information will be used by QAS and shared with the relevant State and National Level Sporting Organisations as necessary for furthering athletes through YouFor2032.
QAS may disclose Your personal information to the Department of Sport, Racing and Olympic and Paralympic Games and relevant Ministerial office for the purposes of reporting on the outcomes of YouFor2032.
Any medical information collected, is done so for the purpose of considering the suitability and safety practices for participants and will be treated by QAS staff as confidential. If You wish to withdraw consent to sharing of medical information, please notify QAS. If this withdrawal of consent impacts on Your ability to safely train in a high performance environment, You may be medically withdrawn after consultation with medical staff, at the discretion of QAS.
If You are 18 or older, and provide Your express consent, personal information (name and email) will be shared with commercial and corporate partners and sponsors for marketing purposes. Such personal information will be collected, stored and disposed of under the QAS Privacy Policy and in accordance with the IP Act. Where a parent or guardian provides consent for Your participation in the App, it is the parent or guardian’s information that will be shared with the QAS corporate partners following consent.
The email address You provide as part of the registration process will be used by QAS and/or appropriate QAS contracted service providers to communicate with You in relation to YouFor2032, including to provide You with a copy of the feedback report generated from the contracted service provider. Dependent on Your email service provider, this may involve the disclosure of Your personal information overseas by way of servers hosted outside of Australia. Your email address may be used by QAS and disclosed by QAS to the Department of Sport, Racing and Olympic and Paralympic Games and/or the Australian Institute of Sport for the purposes of notifying You of events and initiatives relating to YouFor2032 both now and in the future. If You do not wish to be notified of future programming, or later wish to opt out, please contact QAS via email at [email protected].
Personal information will not be disclosed to any other third parties without Your consent in accordance with the YouFor2032 App Terms and Conditions or this YouFor2032 Privacy Statement, or unless authorised or required to do so by law.
You (or your parent/guardian, where applicable) can request deletion of personal information associated with Your App account at any time by emailing [email protected]. Please include the full name used to register, the email address used in the App, and the participant’s date of birth so QAS can verify and locate the correct record.
Subject to any legal obligations to keep records, QAS will take reasonable steps to delete or permanently deidentify Your personal information from QAS systems and from the systems of QAS contracted service providers used for YouFor2032. QAS may need to retain certain information where required or authorised by law, or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, resolve disputes, manage complaints, or meet audit and integrity requirements. If information is retained for these purposes, QAS will restrict access and use it only for the purposes for which it is retained. De-identifed and aggregated statistical information (which cannot reasonably identify You) may be retained and used for statistical and research purposes.
QAS will acknowledge deletion requests and aim to action them within a reasonable timeframe (for example, within 30 days), noting that additional time may be required to verify identity and to complete deletion across backups and contracted service provider systems.
