YouFor2032 FAQs

Everything you need to know about the YouFor2032 Talent Search, driven by RACQ, from getting involved to discovering sporting opportunities across Queensland.

The QAS’s YouFor2032 program is open to aspiring Queensland athletes aged 8-15 years at the time of testing.

If you don’t fall within the age range for YouFor2032, you won’t be eligible for selection through the program.

These age ranges are determined based on the needs of our partner sports and the time required to become elite in each sport.

YouFor2032 isn’t your only pathway to success. There are already great talent pathways operating at the local, regional and state levels where athletes are given opportunities through the respective sporting organisations. If you fall outside of our age ranges and want to have a go, join a local sporting club today.

Yes, our quest to find the best athletes will continue over the coming years.

Since 2022, we’ve been travelling across Queensland to discover and support talent.

If you’re looking to enter Olympic or Paralympic sport, you can start at home with the YouFor2032 Talent Search app, driven by RACQ. Complete a range of app-based tests and submit your results to the QAS Talent Team for review.

If you’re selected, we’ll invite you to the nearest in-person session – or work with you to arrange another option.

No, there is no cost to download or use the YouFor2032 Talent Search app, or to participate in the initial stages of the program.

Thanks to the support from the Queensland Government, RACQ and our partner sporting organisations, the program remains accessible for all athletes.

No! We encourage all athletes to keep playing their current sport/s and other activities while exploring the opportunities through YouFor2032. If you’re matched to a new sport as part of the program, you’ll have the opportunity to try it out for a few months before making any long-term decisions.

The YouFor2032 Talent Search, driven by RACQ, aims to find athletes with the potential for Olympic and Paralympic sport pathways. While not every sport is partnered with YouFor2032, the program can help you discover the sport where you may have the greatest potential. It may even be one you hadn’t considered trying before. If your current sport isn’t included, you can still pursue it through other established pathways.

Absolutely. The YouFor2032 Talent Search program works with a number of Para sport partners, and our team works closely with Paralympics Australia on Paralympic classification and eligibility.

Head to our Paralympic sport talent identification page for details on eligible impairment types.

The QAS Talent team holds testing sessions across Queensland.

The places we visit is determined by where we find talent! If your region isn’t scheduled for a face-to-face testing session, and you’re invited to the next phase, the team will work with you to arrange an alternative opportunity.

You can download and use the YouFor2032 Talent Search app, driven by RACQ, from anywhere in Australia, but only Queensland residents are eligible to progress through the official YouFor2032 Talent Search program.

If you are interested in pursuing talent identification opportunities in a different state, check out the AIS Future Green and Gold program.

The AIS Future Green and Gold program is a national initiative designed to refer athletes to their relevant state’s talent identification programs – in our case, to YouFor2032 driven by RACQ.

If you’re a Queenslander, apply directly to YouFor2032 via the app.

For those based outside Queensland, visit the AIS Future Green and Gold website to discover opportunities in your state. https://www.ausport.gov.au/talent

Athletes who are not selected into the Daredevils program are likely just not ready yet for a high-performance training environment. Keep working on your skills and come back to a future Daredevils event!

Local clubs and sporting organisations also provide numerous pathways for advancing your talent.
