Your pathway to the QAS Para Unit begins with the YouFor2032 Talent Search Program.
We’re searching for aspiring Para athletes across Queensland with the passion, potential, and drive to succeed in high performance sport. You don’t need experience – just the curiosity to try and the willingness to push your limits. Explore your potential in sports like athletics, table tennis, wheelchair rugby, wheelchair basketball, and more. Each sport has its own classification and eligibility criteria, so while not every sport will suit everyone, there may be one that’s the perfect fit for you.
At YouFor2032, we believe location and impairment should never be barriers to discovering sporting potential. If you can’t attend a YouFor2032 Para Testing Day, register your interest via the Expression of Interest Form and download the accessible YouFor2032 Talent Search App.
Para athletes do not currently receive their results via artificial intelligence within the app. Instead, the QAS Talent team reviews the test data you submit and may invite eligible athletes to a face-to-face testing day. Even if you are not a regional athlete, by completing as many tests as you are able will support your readiness for upcoming Para testing days.
The QAS Talent team will invite aspiring Para athletes to join us at a YouFor2032 Para sport testing day. Testing days are fun, engaging and adaptive to support everyone’s participation. You don’t need prior sporting experience, just the desire to try something new and the drive to succeed.
From the YouFor2032 testing days, selected athletes will be invited into the QAS Para Unit, which is designed to support Queensland’s Para athletes from grassroots to the podium – ensuring more athletes with a disability can get involved in Para sport, be discovered and chase their dreams to represent Australia on the world stage.
The QAS Talent team is heading to Townsville this July and you could be exactly who we’re looking for.
No prior sports experience required. Just the drive to find out how good you could be.
The YouFor2032 Para testing session is your pathway to enter the QAS Para Unit.
From your first application through to testing and beyond, the process is designed to be simple, supportive, and exciting. You’ll be guided every step of the way – from booking your session and attending your testing day, to receiving your results and learning about potential next steps in high performance sport.
Arrive with an open mind and positive attitude. Nerves are completely normal.
Our team will guide you through a range of activities designed to show your potential. Each one is important for different sports – so while we’re not expecting you to be good at every test, giving your best on every task will support your opportunity with different sports.
Every participant will receive:
Athletes who are successful at testing will be invited to trial a variety of different sports they have been matched to through the QAS Para Unit. Each sport has a unique selection process, and full details will be shared during the selection phase.
Importantly, this does not mean you need to give up your current sport. We encourage you to take part, enjoy the experience, and explore where this opportunity could lead. After the initial trial phase, you can then decide whether you’d like to continue pursuing the sport further.
