QAS-supported athletes have again delivered standout performances across international and national arenas, with medals, world records, and major titles highlighting another big weekend in sport.
Swimming – Sydney Open: Paralympian Alexa Leary once again showed she’s in record-breaking form. At the Sydney Open, the QAS-supported swimmer lowered her own S9 100m freestyle world record, clocking 58.89 to shave 0.64 seconds off her previous best.
Triathlon – World Triathlon and Para Series, Yokohama: Matt Hauser delivered a sensational performance to claim his first win of the season in the World Triathlon Championship Series at Yokohama.
Athletics – Doha Diamond League: Matthew Denny continued to prove he’s one of the world’s best in discus, claiming gold at the Doha Diamond League with a massive throw of 68.97 metres.
Athletics – Seiko Golden Grand Prix, Tokyo: Bree Rizzo won the 100m, defeating a star-studded field. Liam Adcock won the men’s long jump with a clutch final-round leap of 8.20m. Reece Holder ran 44.76 to take out the men’s 400m. Jude Thomas dominated the 3000m, clocking 7:39.69.
