Queensland’s best made a splash and stamped their mark on the world stage, delivering record-breaking swims at the TYR Summer Championships in Irvine and earning multiple spots in Australia’s World Triathlon Championship and Para cycling team.
Gold medal performances at TYR Summer Championships included: Tiana Kritzinger (Women’s 1500m and 800m Freestyle), Jamie Jack (Men’s 50m Freestyle – Junior World Record), Ben Armbruster (Men’s 100m and 50m Butterfly), Josh Collett (Men’s 200m Breaststroke), and Layla Day (Women’s 100m Backstroke).
World Triathlon Championship Series Elite Team selections included QAS-supported athletes: Matt Hauser, Hayden Hauser, Brayden Mercer, Brad Course, Richelle Hill, and Tara Sosinski. Junior Team (TSP) selections: Aspen Anderson and Addison Houslip.
Para Cycling – Four QAS-supported athletes are set to represent Australia at the Para Cycling Track World Championships in Rio: Paige Greco, Korey Boddington, Michael Shippley, and Jacqui Mengler-Mohr (tandem pilot for Jess Gallagher).
