Results Wrap: Queenslanders soar from Salt Lake to Lucerne with record-breaking performances

QAS-supported athletes continued their winning streak, racking up podium finishes and personal bests across athletics, rowing, skateboarding, BMX and earning national selection in water polo.

Athletics – Ostrava Golden Spike: Teen sprint sensation Gout Gout made his European debut one to remember, breaking his own Australian 200m record and taking the win with a lightning-fast 20.02.

Rowing – Lucerne World Cup: Paralympic champion Erik Horrie added another gold to his growing collection, taking out the PR1 Men’s Single Scull in dominant form.

BMX Race World Cup – Rounds 3 and 4: Saya Sakakibara delivered a strong showing across both rounds, claiming silver in the Elite Women’s category. Teya Rufus also impressed, finishing sixth in Round 3.

X Games – Salt Lake City: Chloe Covell claimed double gold in the Women’s Skateboard Street and Best Trick events – her third straight X Games win in Street.

Water Polo Team Selections: Chelsea Johnson, Kali-yah Taoso, Sienna Owen and Bless Daly were named in the World U20 Team. Alyssa West, Alexandra Nasser and Olivia Muir were named for the World University Games team.
