It was a massive weekend for QAS supported athletes, with dominant performances across athletics, diving and surfing.
Australian Age Swimming Championships: Five athletes achieved qualifying times for the 2025 World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships. Hayley Mackinder led the way with two gold medal swims and qualifying time performances.
Athletics – Perth Track Classic: Matt Denny delivered an incredible throw of 74.78m in the discus, ranking as the second-best throw in history. Elizabeth Clay won gold in the women’s 100m hurdles (12.74). Liam Adcock won the men’s long jump with 8.14m. Peyton Craig took silver in the men’s 800m with a PB of 1:44.07 (World Championships qualifier). TSP athlete Gout Gout took gold in the men’s U20 100m with 9.99 and the Open 200m with 19.84.
World Aquatics Diving World Cup: Maddison Keeney won bronze in the Women’s 3m springboard and bronze (with Alysha Koloi) in the Women’s Synchronised 3m.
World Surf League Championship Tour: Isabella Nichols finished 2nd overall in a highly competitive field.
