Results Wrap – Dominance in Sailing, Track Cycling and BMX Freestyle by QAS supported athletes

Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS)-supported athletes showcased their exceptional talents, securing medals and achieving standout performances in sailing and cycling competitions.

Cycling BMX Freestyle – UCI Urban Cycling World Championships, Abu Dhabi: BMX rider Logan Martin ended the year on a high, securing his third BMX Freestyle World Championship title. “I’m absolutely stoked to win my third world championship,” Logan said. “Those tricks are the ones I practice every day at home.”

Track Cycling – Australian Omnium Championships: Amelie Sanders claimed the U19 National Omnium Champion title. Toby Jones won the U19 men’s category. Liam Walsh captured the elite National Omnium Champion title. Declan Trezise delivered a remarkable performance to claim second in the National Madison.

Sailing – Kite foil, Brisbane: Laila Opanubi, a YouFor2032 program athlete now on the QAS Talent Support Plan, claimed victory in the women’s wing foil class at Sail Brisbane. Her performance reinforces her growing reputation as a star in the making.
