Results wrap – A record breaking athletics result and QAS supported athletes and coaches shine in award season

QAS Talent Support Plan athlete Gout Gout delivered a jaw-dropping performance at the Australian All Schools Athletics Championship, smashing a 56-year-old Australian 200m record with a blistering time of 20.04 seconds. This places him second on the world U18 all-time list, ahead of Usain Bolt at the same age.

This year’s award season has been a showstopper for QAS-supported athletes, stars and their dedicated teams sweeping industry awards celebrating achievements from the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games.

AIS Sport Performance Awards: Awarded Best Applied Sport Science Support Team – Diving, Best New Initiative – QAS ParaSTART Program, and Best Applied Psychology Program.

Surfing Australia Awards: Dane Henry won the Mick Fanning Male Rising Star Award (Under 18). Sierra Kerr received the Stephanie Gilmore Female Rising Star Award.

Diving Awards: Ady Hinchliffe and the diving team were recognised. Emily Meaney won the Endeavour Award. Maddi Keeney was named Female Diver of the Year.
