With the curtain closed on the Paris Paralympic Games, QAS Para Sport High-Performance Manager Dr Emma Beckman and QAS General Manager Troy Ayres arrived home with valuable insights to excel athletes forward for Brisbane 2032 and beyond.
Emma and Troy were part of a Paralympics Australia contingent of high-performance sport leaders tasked with uncovering the secret ingredients to gold medal success, doing on-the-ground sport intelligence data-gathering.
“The thing that determines success in paralympic sport comes down to talent, who is the most motivated, and their access to coaching and training,” Dr Beckman said.
Dr Beckman works as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and sports scientist, on secondment in a joint role at QAS and Paralympics Australia as Para sport high-performance manager.
The QAS is also running a Para Sport talent identification event. This event is free for participants aged between 13-30 and is proudly run by the YouFor2032 program with support from the AIS’s Future Green and Gold program and Paralympics Australia.
