Queensland’s firepower continues on night three of Australian Swimming Trials

PBs and podium sweeps – QAS-supported athletes delivered once again on night three of the 2025 Australian Swimming Trials, locking in another 11 qualifying times for the World Championships.

Mollie O’Callaghan posted a world-leading 1:54.43 to claim top spot in the women’s 200m freestyle. Lani Pallister backed up her 400m free PB with another career best (1:54.89) to finish second, while Jamie Perkins continued her impressive form to round out the all-Queensland podium (1:55.44 PB).

In the men’s 200m butterfly, Harrison Turner swam a career-best 1:54.90 to punch his ticket to Singapore – the second-fastest Australian of all time in the event.

Sam Short continued his dominance in the men’s 800m freestyle, touching the wall in 7:40.95 PB for gold. Ben Goedemans followed in 7:46.16, earning a silver medal and his first senior Dolphins team call-up.

Cameron McEvoy stormed to gold in the men’s 50m freestyle with a time of 21.30 qualifying time. Ben Hance set a world record in the men’s multi-class 50m backstroke.
