Queensland keeps rolling as records fall and podiums stack on night four of Australian Swimming Trials

Records and podium sweeps – QAS-supported athletes delivered again on night four of the 2025 Australian Swimming Trials, locking in two Australian Records and a wave of qualifying times for the World Championships.

Backstroke queen Kaylee McKeown lit up the pool in the women’s 200m, charging to gold with a commanding 2:04.47 qualifying time. Hannah Fredericks also booked a seat to Singapore, touching in 2:09.54 QT and Jenna Forrester followed in 2:11.79 to complete the clean sweep for Queensland.

In the distance freestyle, Lani Pallister delivered a historic swim in the women’s 800m freestyle, stopping the clock in 8:10.84 to set a new Australian Record. Jamie Perkins (8:26.20 QT) added silver, while Tiana Kritzinger secured bronze in another all-Queensland podium.

Sprint power was on show in the men’s 100m freestyle, with Flynn Southam claiming silver in 47.69 QT and Max Giuliani taking bronze in 48.34.

Jake Michel broke the Australian Record in the men’s MC 100m breaststroke. Alexa Leary, Rachael Watson, Callum Simpson, and Tom Gallagher all clocked qualifying times in the MC 100m freestyle.
