The Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) has launched a world-leading AI-powered athlete discovery app, giving our state’s future sports champions the chance to be discovered anywhere, anytime.
The YouFor2032 app, driven by a new partnership with RACQ, uses artificial intelligence and computer vision to assess the abilities of Queensland’s aspiring athletes from the comfort of their own homes.
Athletes with promising test results are then invited to an in-person YouFor2032 testing session, with the potential to be matched with a sport and put on the coaching and development pathway to elite sport.
QAS General Manager Troy Ayres said: “Our YouFor2032 program has been incredibly successful since launching in 2022. We know there is so much sporting talent in our state and this world-leading app will help us reach even further, to every corner of Queensland.”
QAS Talent Identification and Development Lead Dr Alex Roberts said: “One of the most important messages is that previous sporting success isn’t a requirement. We are looking for people who are interested in trying a new sport and have the potential to succeed at a high level.”
The team has tested more than 5,700 young athletes, with more than 2,000 identified and progressed into the pathway.
