QAS Results Wrap: Athletes dominate with gold medals and unstoppable winning streak!

From Bree Walker’s back-to-back World Cup golds to double gold in BMX Freestyle, Queensland athletes continue to dominate on the global and national stage.

Monobob – IBSF World Cup, Lillehammer: QAS-supported Bree Walker secured back-to-back gold medals to win the final event of the season, finishing 2nd overall in the IBSF World Cup standings.

Luge – PyeongChang: QAS-supported athlete Alex Ferlazzo recorded his best result of the 2024-2025 season, finishing 9th overall at the penultimate Luge World Cup.

BMX Freestyle – National Championship, Gold Coast: Brandon Loupos and Natalya Diehm both claimed gold at the 2025 AusCycling BMX Freestyle National Championships. Loupos made a triumphant return to the top with 96.67 on his opening run. Diehm claimed her fifth national championship with a stunning 93.33-point second run.

Triathlon – World Triathlon Championship Series, Abu Dhabi: Matt Hauser delivered a standout performance in the season opener, claiming a strong result and proving he’s a serious world title contender.

Para Swimming – World Series, Melbourne: 19 QAS athletes competed with 11 securing podium positions. Highlights included Alexa Leary (gold in 50m freestyle with world record) and Ben Hance (gold in 50m and 100m backstroke).

Surfing – World Surf League Championship, Abu Dhabi: QAS-supported surfer Ethan Ewing secured a third-place finish.

Water Polo – Australian Water Polo League: The Queensland Thunder extended their perfect season record to 8/8 with dominant victories.
