Australia’s Women’s Water Polo team won Silver, going down to Spain 11-9 in the Final. The Stingers featured QAS supported athletes Alice Williams, Abby Andrews, Charlize Andrews, Elle Armit and Gabi Palm. Alice Williams scored five goals in the final, finishing the tournament with 21 goals.
Cassiel Rousseau narrowly missed a medal, coming fourth in the Men’s 10m Platform Final with 481.00 points.
Queenslander Patrick Tiernan recorded the fastest ever time by an Australian in an Olympic Marathon with 2:10:34, eclipsing Robert de Castella’s time of 2:11:09 at LA 1984.
