McEvoy and McKeown lead golden charge as Australia wraps World Championships with record-breaking finish

Australia has wrapped a successful campaign at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore with another outstanding display in the final sessions, bringing home gold, silver and bronze across both swimming and diving.

QAS-supported swimmer Cam McEvoy delivered one of the swims of the meet in the Men’s 50m Freestyle, clocking 21.14 to take gold. The performance adds to McEvoy’s remarkable resurgence and reinforces his position among the world’s fastest.

Kaylee McKeown extended her backstroke legacy with a flawless swim in the Women’s 200m Backstroke, touching in 2:03.33 to claim gold and break the Championship Record. The QAS-supported athlete has been a consistent standout throughout the meet.

In the Women’s 50m Freestyle, Meg Harris (QAS) added another gold to Australia’s tally with a time of 24.02, out-touching a stacked field.

Silver medals came in strong:

  • Mollie O’Callaghan – Women’s 100m Freestyle
  • Alex Perkins – Women’s 50m Butterfly (Oceanic Record)
  • Lani Pallister – Women’s 800m Freestyle (Oceanic Record)
  • Jenna Forrester (QAS) – Women’s 400m Individual Medley
  • Women’s 4x100m Medley Relay: Kaylee McKeown (QAS), Ella Ramsay (QAS), Alex Perkins (QAS), Mollie O’Callaghan (QAS)

In the Men’s 4x200m Freestyle Relay, Flynn Southam, Kai Taylor, Max Giuliani and Charlie Hawke combined for bronze, with Ed Somerville contributing in the heats.

Other key final performances included:

  • Isaac Cooper (QAS) – 7th in Men’s 50m Backstroke
  • Sam Short (QAS) – 4th in the 1500m Freestyle
  • Brendon Smith (QAS) – 8th in 400m Individual Medley
  • Lilly Price – 6th in Women’s 50m Butterfly

Diving delivers on Final Night

In the final night of diving, Cassiel Rousseau soared to gold in the Men’s 10m Platform, closing out a strong campaign with one of his most composed performances to date.

Maddie Keeney (QAS) added a top 6 finish in the Women’s 3m Springboard, further proving her consistency on the world stage.
