Dominant performances by QAS-supported athletes with Dolphins team selections, world records and global podiums

Queensland athletes continue to set the pace in 2025, delivering standout performances across swimming, BMX, skateboarding, athletics, rowing, and more – nationally and globally.

The highlight came in Adelaide, where 80 QAS-supported swimmers competed at the 2025 Australian Swimming Trials, producing 127 ‘A’ Finals, 67 qualifying times, 60 PBs, and multiple national records. In total, 47 QAS-supported swimmers earned selection to the Australian Dolphins team.

Key highlights include: Lani Pallister set an Australian and Commonwealth Record in the women’s 1500m freestyle; Alexandria Perkins set a new All Comers Record in the women’s 50m butterfly; Jake Michel set a new Australian Record in the Men’s MC 100m Breaststroke.

40 swimmers were selected for the 2025 World Championships team, with 31 of them (77.5%) QAS-supported athletes named to the Australian Dolphins Team for Singapore.

Beyond the pool: Moesha Johnson claimed gold in the Women’s 10km at the Open Water World Cup. Saya Sakakibara and Izaac Kennedy both secured silver in the Elite BMX Race World Cup. Chloe Covell won the World Skateboarding Tour World Cup in Rome. Matthew Denny placed third in the Stockholm Diamond League discus. Erik Horrie won gold in the PR1 Men’s Single Sculls at the Rowing World Cup I.
