Twenty-three potential future Olympians showed off their diving skills at Kawana Aquatic Centre this week as part of the QAS YouFor2032 talent identification program’s diving pathway.
The young athletes, aged between 10 and 18, were assessed by QAS and Diving Australia coaches on their technical skills, physical attributes and potential.
The session was one of several YouFor2032 diving pathway events held across Queensland, with coaches looking for athletes who demonstrate the physical and mental attributes to succeed in elite diving.
“We’re looking for athletes who have the right foundation to develop into elite divers,” said the QAS diving pathway coach. “These sessions give young Queenslanders a chance to be discovered.”
